Monkstown Garden Design Landscape Project
This Residential Garden in Monkstown, South County Dublin was itself a South facing Garden and got plently of Direct Sunlight.
The garden was designed to the clients exact specification.
A natural stone Driveway was required for off street parking and lawn renovation with rollout turf and the renewal of flower beds with new planting.
Driveway was installed with Natural Stone - Mint Indian Sandstone.
A red stock brick trim was used to finish Driveway. Boundary walls were painted and flower bed extended. Specimen plants selected were Olive tree, Pheonix carensises and buxus Spiral. Mypex weed block and fine bark mulch were used to keep the beds low maintenance.
Light emitting diodes (LED's) were used to highlight the Specimen plants and patio lights were dotted around drive embedded into brick edging. Blue and green outdoor lights were chosen for garden to accentuate the mediterranean theme.
LEDs are very energy efficient and safe for outdoor use. This display using extremely low percentage of household energy
A dark and motion sensor detects movement and/or heat to turn lights on automatically.
A new lawn of fifty square meters was rolled out as the existing lawn was unlevel, moss filled and patchy.
Willow screening was encorporated to extend the height of the low bundary walls from neighbours garden.
A mixture of ferns and grasses were used to complement existing planting and shrubbery including the spectacular
'Flame of the forest' acidic plant.
Twin Tall Planters with Spiral Buxus were placed at Doorway to distinguish enterance to home.
