COTTAGE GARDEN, RATHFARNHAM

BRIEF

Client had just moved into a quaint cottage in Rathfarnham originally built to house the workers of local Mill adjacent to river in 1930's.

The front garden needed a complimentary design to the natural stone facade of house.

DESIGN

Garden Design was influenced by rotation of Mill wheel that set the pace for daily living.

TRAVERTINE and Limestone

Natural travertine paving and Blue limestone tiles were paved for a distinct and smooth surface

FERNS AND BUXUS

Miniture Tree Ferns 'antarctica dicksonia' were planted in a rockery style formation in corner of garden as

acknowledgment of Bushy park's riverside walk. This complimented the pre-existing buxus 'box' hedging nicely
